Chapter 4
Zakat and Charity
1. Hadrat Jarir bin ‘Abdallah (may Allah be pleased with him) related: “I promised the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) that I would establish Prayer, pay Zakat (the poor due) and give sincere advice to every Muslim”. (al-Bukhari and Muslim)
2. Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) related that the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Charity does not diminish wealth, Allah enhances the honour of one who forgives, and one who humbles himself for the sake of Allah, Allah exalts him in rank”. (Muslim)
3. Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) related that the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Even utterance of nice words is charity”. (al-Bukhari and Muslim)
